Titleist on Top

According to Sports Marketing Surveys (which produces data on the equipment players use) Titeist came out way on top as the ball most pros prefer. Points were awarded as follows: 10pts for the brand used by the winner, 8pts for the runner-up, etc., etc. Due to Titleists' Pro V1 and Pro V1x models comfortably out-scored the competition. The premium ball market has seen some serious launches in recents years but it appears Titleist clearly leads the way.

  1. Titleist - 807
  2. Callaway - 218
  3. Srixon - 77
  4. Top-flite - 44
  5. Nike - 43

Yeah...okay. Numbers are great but you have to believe that Tiger could play with a hockey puck and still beat 1/3 of most touring pro's...that counts for a few points on your scale, I think.

Proven performance from the industry leader. Titleist golf balls have been winning majors, club championships, and sunday skins games for the last 40 years. The general public will follow whatever the tour players choose to play regardless of the myriad of ball choices out there. Titleist has always been on the forefront of 'tour-accepted' technology and will continue to do so. Look at what Div 1 collegiate players are choosing to play (they dont have to pay for their equipment). Same domination in those ranks as on tour or the country club / daily fee facility in your hometown. I'm no tour player but as a single digit handicapper I have 'test driven' a number of premium multi-layer balls on the market (Callaway HX Tour, Precept U-TRI, Srixon, Nike One Platinum) none of which come close to the proven performance of the Pro V1 design. They are staying in my bag until I find something better and I think the guys on tour would whole-heartedly agree.
